The Language of Colour
Research shows people change not only their behavioural patterns when subjected to certain colours but it also impacts on their physiological wellbeing. For instance, being surrounded by the colour red raises blood pressure while blue lowers it. Green is often used in care situations (e.g. hospitals, rest homes) as it has a soothing, healing effect emotionally and physically. Prisons know the value of using pink rooms to calm aggressive prisioners.
Colour has a language all of it’s own. Subconsciously we are affected by what it is saying so it makes sense to ensure our colour ‘message’ is in harmony with us.
During a personal colour consultation a client’s dominant skin pigment colour (either warm yellow or cool blue based) is found and this information is used to assess the clothing colours that most flatter the wearer’s skintone.
